About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef De Partie to join our culinary team on board MSC Cruises.

Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and talented chef to take their career to the next level, working in one of the world's leading cruise lines. As a Chef De Partie, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional cuisine to our guests, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency throughout all meals served on board;
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively;
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences of our guests;
  • Work collaboratively with other department heads to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experience;
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and minimize waste by implementing efficient stock control systems;
  • Collaborate with the Speciality Restaurant Chef to plan and execute special events and themed dining experiences;
  • Plan and cost menus, trials, and products, taking into account nutritional information and allergens;
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to strict health and safety protocols;
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef De Partie or equivalent position in a similar establishment;
  • Technical education in Hospitality or Culinary School preferred;
  • Certified in Food Safety/HACCP and demonstrated understanding of food safety practices;
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop junior staff members;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and guests alike;
  • Ability to work well under pressure, think critically, and make sound decisions in a timely manner;
