Key Responsibilities- Contract Negotiation: Support the global cruise DMCs and legal team in negotiating contracts with cruise lines to achieve the best possible outcomes for the company.
- Contract Consolidation: Lead the project to consolidate cruise contracts, resulting in a single global contract or set of terms and conditions for each cruise line.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to help relevant teams understand and improve margins, and determine the value of each contract to the company.
- Data Analysis: Collect, monitor, and study data (internal and external) to recommend actions where necessary, particularly in relation to pricing.
- Commercial Support: Provide support to senior management and cruise operational teams on a wide range of commercial issues, including agreements, risk management, contract administration, and incident reports.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as finance, global cruise operations, and marketing to achieve business goals while mitigating legal and commercial risks.
- Commercial Strategy: Utilize data to develop and implement strategies to optimize commercial outcomes and support business objectives for global cruise activities.
- Industry Research: Stay updated on cruise industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to proactively address commercial challenges and opportunities.
- Market Reports: Conduct research and analysis to produce market reports for the cruise teams as required, providing recommendations and solutions to commercial issues.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with cruise industry partners and stakeholders.
- Qualifications: Matric Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, or Diploma in Business Management or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial management, including financial analysis, preferably within the cruise or travel industry, and for a global or multi-national corporation.
- Skills: Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively. Strategic thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented approach. Excellent English communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal. Familiarity with cruise industry regulations and practices is an advantage. Strong work ethic, with time management and prioritization skills. Ability to work well under pressure, either independently or within a team environment. Can handle multiple projects simultaneously. Inquisitive, analytical, and enquiring mind. Advanced Excel skills. Integrity, openness, and honesty. Ability to travel globally, if required.
