Supply Chain Materials Coordinator

REPORTING TO: Warehouse Manager
Job Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to implement daily materials planning schedules for all production units, engage in capacity planning, generate KPI reports, oversee procurement activities, and ensure compliance with established processes. The materials planner is responsible for updating master data on a daily basis, monitoring forecast variances, and providing coverage for the materials planner as needed. Effective communication with relevant stakeholders regarding these activities is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic PlanningContribute to and influence departmental strategy.Monitor progress against the established plan.Formulate recommendations and subsequent action plans to facilitate the achievement of departmental objectives.Engage in daily interactions with team members to execute strategy.Establish and nurture effective relationships with stakeholders to identify and implement solutions for continuous improvement.Collaborate with suppliers to align on strategic plans through regular communication regarding trend changes and tactical forecasting.Maintain proactive communication with key stakeholders.Develop stock build plans considering capacity and raw material supply.
Operational PlanningComprehend and enhance supply chain systems.Recognize internal and external factors affecting demand and ensure they are reflected in forecasts.Communicate with stakeholders to optimize efficiencies.Identify challenges, trends, and opportunities.Maintain data and systems, including Master Data, BOMs, MOQs, and lead times.Gather information and assumptions.Achieve consensus through alignment.Share and publish MRP plans.Track and manage plans while escalating supply shortages.Issue daily plans and schedules for production units.Plan resources and labor shifts.Manage warehouse space in accordance with plans.Oversee redundant and obsolete stock.Foster relationships with suppliers.Provide forecasts to suppliers on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.Manage purchase orders and ensure accurate order placements.Keep updated price lists and communicate price changes internally.Oversee supplier contracts and conduct price negotiations.Ensure adherence to supplier splits.Address supplier claims, GRV issues, returns, and price disputes.Send daily delivery schedules.Report on material shortages, including root causes and corrective actions.Drive cost-saving initiatives aligned with departmental strategies.
Continuous ImprovementAnalyze historical and current performance metrics.Understand market and product trends that may impact demand.Implement tactical plans to support business decision-making with a focus on capacity and staffing.Review and implement long-term tactical plans.Initiate planning innovations to enhance overall planning processes.
Qualifications:BBusSc / B Com in Supply Chain or related field.
Experience:1 - 2 years of operational supply chain experience.
Working Hours:Monday to Friday from 07h00 – 17h00.
Functional Competencies:Sales and Operations Planning.Financial or Economic Background.Supply Chain Management.Statistical Demand and Forecasting Techniques.Strong Mathematical and Statistical Skills.Project Management.
