About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Content Editor to support our publishing efforts and collaborate with our Institute team of editorial, digital, and audience engagement professionals. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for editing content to improve clarity, readability, and concision, as well as proofreading copy to ensure grammatical accuracy and factual correctness.

Responsibilities
  • Edit web pages, articles, reports, blog posts, email newsletters, and other content to enhance overall quality and impact.
  • Maintain adherence to style guidelines and verify factual correctness of information.
  • Ensure proper spelling and representation of organizations, individuals, and titles.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse personalities as a member of a global team working across borders and multiple time zones.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working as a copy editor/sub-editor or proofreader or similar role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with applying principles of style guides, such as the Chicago Manual of Style or AP style guide.
  • Mastery of spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and the ability to make constructive suggestions.
  • Basic knowledge of legal issues involved in publishing, such as libel and plagiarism.
  • Experience editing in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Google Docs; experience with Adobe InDesign and website content management systems a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a changing environment.
