Job Title: Waiter
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Waiter to join our team at IntelliStaff. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and accurate food and beverage delivery, and maintaining a clean and organized dining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
- Greet Guests Warmly: Greet guests warmly and ensure they are seated promptly, providing a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.
- Take Orders and Provide Recommendations: Take orders and provide personalized recommendations based on guest preferences and menu knowledge, ensuring that all guest requests are met promptly and accurately.
- Address Guest Complaints: Address and resolve any guest complaints or concerns in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring that all issues are resolved promptly and to the guests’ satisfaction.
Service Management:
- Setup and Cleanliness: Oversee the setup and cleanliness of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations, ensuring that all areas are clean and well-maintained.
- Food Order Coordination: Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders, ensuring that all guests receive their food promptly and at the right temperature.
- Service Flow Management: Monitor the flow of service and make adjustments as necessary to maintain a high level of efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Opening and Closing Duties: Manage the opening and closing duties of the restaurant, ensuring that all tasks are completed properly and efficiently.
Quality Control:
- Food and Beverage Quality: Ensure that all food and beverages are served according to hotel standards, including presentation and temperature.
- Quality Check: Regularly check the quality of food and beverages served to guests, ensuring that all items meet the highest quality standards.
- Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations, and ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and clean.
Inventory and Supplies:
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of service-related items, including utensils, linens, and glassware, ensuring that all items are stocked and ready for use.
- Supply Coordination: Coordinate with the restaurant manager to order and restock supplies as needed, ensuring that all items are received and stocked efficiently.
- Cost-Effective Practices: Implement cost-effective practices to manage resources and minimize waste, ensuring that all areas are run efficiently and effectively.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Guest Payments: Assist with processing guest payments accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all transactions are completed promptly and accurately.
- Cash and Credit Transactions: Ensure proper handling of cash and credit transactions, maintaining a balanced cash register, and ensuring that all transactions are accurate and secure.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Restaurant Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant or hotel dining environment, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service.
Skills:
- Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of servers and other front-of-house staff.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, kitchen staff, and other team members.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and commitment to excellence, with the ability to maintain high standards of quality and service.
- Multitasking and Problem-Solving: Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Education:
- High School Diploma: High school diploma or equivalent required, with a strong educational background in hospitality, customer service, or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 30 lbs), and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
