Key Responsibilities:
- Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and take full responsibility for these activities.
- Contribute to the holistic care of patients, maintaining aseptic technique when opening packs and consumables.
- Assist the anaesthetist during induction of anaesthesia and take responsibility for own nursing actions and professional conduct.
- Ensure that all patients have an appropriate nursing care plan, communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Record and sign specimen registers, conduct ongoing audits of health records, and manage stock effectively.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
- Enrolled Nurse qualification.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Minimum of 5 years as an enrolled nurse assistant.
- Post-Op nursing experience and knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety are essential.
