About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter & Turner to join our team in Amanzimtoti. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance production efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Analyze and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and related KPIs to optimize maintenance strategies.
  • Implement preventative maintenance concepts and programs to minimize equipment failures and reduce Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • Lead the maintenance team in scheduling and executing tasks, general maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
  • Collaborate with the safety officer to develop and maintain safety standards and protocols.
  • Support the growth and development of the maintenance team by sharing knowledge and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 certificate with a pass in Mathematics.
  • Trade test qualification as a Fitter & Turner/Millwright or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of post-trade experience in a FMCG/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with pumps, mixing vessels, boilers, filling machines, and labeling machines is essential.
  • A valid driver's license and own transportation are required.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and present reports.
  • H&S knowledge and quality awareness are essential for this role.
  • GMP environment experience is advantageous.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken word).
Estimated Salary: R600,000 - R800,000 per annum
