About Joubert & Associates

HORTGRO is a national service body for several horticultural industry organisations, focusing on markets, production, and other key areas. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Agricultural Development Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve agricultural economic information systems, parameters, and time series data.
  • Enhance value chain perspectives through analysis of cost drivers and expansion of existing frameworks.
  • Support the Joint Marketing Forums (JMFs), trade development initiatives, and proposals for the fruit group.
  • Conduct research and analysis on trade policy and legislation perspectives.
  • Provide insights on plantings, trends, and market analysis.
  • Handle agricultural economic queries from various stakeholders.
  • Compile and distribute newsletters, reports, and other relevant information to clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with producers, packhouses, exporters, and other industry stakeholders to achieve common goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial or marketing environments will be highly beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of Agricultural Economic concepts and terminology.
  • Outstanding computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional planning, organisational, and administrative abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Independent thinker with initiative-taking skills.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, flexible, and passionate individual.
Remuneration Package

We offer a competitive remuneration package, tailored to the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. This includes a base salary of approximately $85,000 per annum, commensurate with the level of expertise required for this position. The compensation package also encompasses additional benefits and incentives that align with our company's values and mission.
