The estimated salary for this position is approximately $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description
The Strategic Programme Planning and Monitoring Lead will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to programme planning, monitoring, and evaluation within the UNICEF office in South Africa. This includes developing and implementing programme plans, monitoring progress, and evaluating the effectiveness of programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programme plans that align with UNICEF's strategic objectives;
- Monitor and evaluate programme progress, identifying areas for improvement and recommending adjustments as needed;
- Collaborate with programme teams to ensure effective implementation and coordination;
- Analyze data and research findings to inform programme decisions;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government partners, NGOs, and other development partners;
- Provide technical support and capacity-building training to programme staff and partners;
- Contribute to the development of programme reports, briefs, and other documents as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced university degree in social sciences, statistics, planning, or related field;
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in programme planning, monitoring, and evaluation;
- Proven track record of delivering results-oriented programming, with a focus on achieving sustainable impact;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and strategically;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders;
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
