Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Associate to join our team at the University of Cape Town Lung Institute. This is a 6-month fixed-term position based in Mowbray, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, screen, and consent study participants
  • Ensure participant retention and follow-up, including home visits for missed appointments
  • Manage medication adherence and report any irregularities to the Registered Nurse
  • Data collection, administration, and database management
  • Participant education and support during screening
  • Educate participants on research, TB/HIV, and adherence
  • Assist clinical staff with specimen labeling and transportation
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate or Equivalent
  • Experience in healthcare environment
  • Sound knowledge of recruiting area
  • Medical terminology (TB/HIV/COVID-19) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Fluency in English and another South African Language
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Credit and Criminal Clear
Estimated Salary:

R300,000 - R400,000 per annum

  • This is a fixed-term contract
  • Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
