Job Description:
As a Technical Specialist - Quality Assurance Expert, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Compulsory Specifications and Technical Regulations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the NRCS Act, Standards Act, and applicable compulsory specifications and technical regulations. You will also provide specialist advice and recommendations to inform regulatory decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (specializing in legal, health, safety, environmental monitoring instrumentation or related scientific qualifications) or a B Tech Quality with a National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. At least 8 years of experience in a Regulatory and/or Legal Metrology calibration, testing, and inspection environment is required. Experience in quality management systems will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and amend Compulsory Specifications and Technical Regulations.
  • Represent the NRCS at local, regional, and international forums.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Interpret Acts, Standards, and Regulations.
