Job Overview

Sanlam is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual to play a pivotal role in designing and implementing a transformative Group Treasury capability. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of treasury principles and proven experience in implementing treasury strategies.

The role will involve collaborating with key stakeholders to develop and implement the long-term treasury strategy, aligned with overall business objectives. You will also conduct in-depth market analysis and competitor benchmarking to identify best practices and emerging trends in treasury management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a best-in-class Group Treasury capability, with a focus on enhancing yield on cash balances, improving cash generation and repatriation, optimising intra-group funding and liquidity transfers, improving FX flows and hedging outcomes, and standardising cash, funding, liquidity and FX management practices across the Group.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement the long-term treasury strategy, aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis and competitor benchmarking to identify best practices and emerging trends in treasury management.
  • Lead / drive key workstreams providing input into the design and implementation of the Group Treasury operating model.
  • Develop and implement treasury policies, frameworks, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Support the TMS requirements specification, vendor selection and system implementation process.
  • Assume responsibility for various operational activities / processes and reporting requirements as they transition into BAU.
  • Manage the company's cash, funding and liquidity position, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet operational and investment requirements.
