About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at DO MORE Placements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a strong work ethic, with a can-do attitude and desire to add value and grow.

This is a hybrid role combining relatively complex reconciliations and some financial analysis, data entry, issuance of invoices, payment of invoices, and requires someone logical, with strong number skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts receivable – prepare and distribute client invoices, update clients' Statement of Accounts (SoAs), follow up with clients about outstanding payments.
  • Post client invoices in the accounting software.
  • Post bank statements and perform a bank reconciliation.
  • Verify correctness of vendor invoices via an established reconciliation process.
  • Post supplier invoices.
  • Reconcile and post Senior Management expenses.
  • Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements.
  • Assist with financial analysis of various projects or initiatives.
  • Contribute to improving the existing accounting processes.
  • Build cross-functional relationships across the company.
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • University degree (Accounting, Business, Economics).
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • International Finance experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel).
  • Practical knowledge of any other analytical tools is an advantage.
  • Practical knowledge of working with an accounting software (pref QUICKBOOKS ONLINE or XERO).
  • Practical and logical approach to resolving business problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Professional, proactive, open to learning, 'can do' attitude.
