The successful Investment Support Professional will be responsible for:

  • Screening applications to ensure they meet Nefcorp's eligibility criteria and mandate.
  • Conducting commercial assessments using Nefcorp's established framework, generating reports with recommendations on application acceptance or rejection.
  • Preparing detailed financial analyses for each application.
  • Communicating with applicants to gather information, schedule meetings, and provide guidance.
  • Gathering industry insights through desktop research and providing risk assessments for each application.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders in Kwa-Zulu Natal to source quality deal flow for Nefcorp.
  • Attending conferences and seminars to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Providing pre-investment mentorship and resolving complaints that require escalation beyond product advisors.
  • Conducting business valuations and post-investment due diligence on existing investments.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and policies related to investments.
  • Fostering strong customer relationships and promoting CRM best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A Postgraduate Commerce Degree is highly desirable.
  • At least 3 years' experience in SME funding, deal making, investment environment, business banking, venture capital, and/or development finance.
  • Proven ability to manage an SME portfolio effectively.
  • Strong understanding of the investment process, particularly in relation to SME funding.
  • Knowledge of key commercial statutes and regulations applicable to SME portfolios.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and generate compelling written recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and result-oriented individual.
