Job Overview

The ideal candidate for this Academic Administrator position will be responsible for managing and implementing academic legislative requirements at CTU Training Solutions. The successful applicant will oversee the development of policies and procedures in line with national educational acts and regulations.

This role also involves developing and managing a Quality Management System based on best practices, ensuring that it aligns with national and international standards.

A key focus area is strategic planning, with an emphasis on staying up-to-date with the latest techniques in operational management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Admissions and Registrations: Ensure efficient and effective student enrollment processes
  • Assessment and Moderation Administration: Manage assessment and moderation processes to ensure academic integrity
  • Graduation Service: Coordinate graduation ceremonies and related activities
  • Annual Update of Rules and Regulations: Review and update institutional policies and procedures
  • Academic Prospectus: Develop and disseminate information on courses and course guidelines
  • Custodian of Student Records: Maintain accurate and compliant records management systems
  • Senate Meetings and Committee Services: Provide necessary committee services and attend senate meetings
  • Guidance on Academic Governance and Policy: Offer guidance on academic governance and policy matters
  • Warranting of Assessment Reports: Verify the accuracy of assessment reports and transcripts
  • Institutional Annual Report: Prepare and submit the annual report to relevant authorities
  • Quality Initiatives: Participate in quality initiatives as determined by the Academic Dean
  • Liaison with External Stakeholders: Foster relationships with external stakeholders, quality councils, and SETAs
  • Policies and Compliance: Maintain valid policies and ensure legal and regulatory compliance
  • Student Disciplinary Matters: Address student disciplinary issues in accordance with institutional policies
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • An Honours Degree in Education or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in a tertiary institution, with 5 years in a senior management position
  • Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Office 365

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is R750,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is available, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid leave.
