The Technical Specialist at Ferva Business Partners is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Vaults at various customer locations. This involves installing, repairing, maintaining, and uninstalling Vaults as needed, while adhering to strict timeframes. The role requires frequent travel to customer sites across different provinces, where the Technical Specialist will conduct maintenance and installation tasks to meet customer satisfaction and adhere to our company's standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical:
    • The Technical Specialist is responsible for reviewing daily workflows compiled by managers to identify tasks and ensure necessary stock is available.
    • They must verify that all required machinery, components, tools, and spare parts are taken to the field to increase efficiency.
    • The Technical Specialist troubleshoots Vaults to identify issues, resolves them, and ensures the Vaults operate within set standards. If issues cannot be resolved, they escalate to their Line Manager.
    • Upon completion of tasks, the Technical Specialist ensures the work area is left tidy and safe.
    • They provide support and training to new technicians and attend company-provided training to enhance skills and learn new ones.
    • The Technical Specialist is responsible for testing the alarm system to ensure it functions properly, ensuring Vault safety and minimizing risks.
  • General & Administration:
    • The Technical Specialist is responsible for ensuring all necessary administration, claims, and paperwork are completed and up-to-date, including timesheets and overtime submissions.
    • They must ensure kits and tools are updated and properly maintained, minimizing damage and loss.
    • A valid driver's license must be available at all times when driving the company vehicle, and the vehicle must be inspected before use.
    • The Technical Specialist ensures the company vehicle and property are kept clean and well-maintained, informing the relevant manager when the vehicle is due for service.
    • They are responsible for reporting any incidents or damage to company property, adhering to company policy and procedures.
    • The Technical Specialist must wear the appropriate VaultGroup uniform at all times, presenting themselves professionally when visiting clients or on-site.
    • They are responsible for managing their time effectively and communicating with the relevant manager regarding any issues or delays.
    • The Technical Specialist must manage petty cash effectively.
Requirements
  • Matric (essential)
  • Maintenance, installation, and repairs experience
  • 2-3 years of experience as a technician, technician apprentice, or relevant work experience
  • Good communication and administrative skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid driver's license (essential)
  • Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related fields
