We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team at Staff Unlimited Recruitment. As a Data Centre Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of data centre infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and security of critical systems and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data centre infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, backup systems, and virtual servers.
- Install and maintain critical and non-critical data centre infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues and implement best practices to support data centre operations.
- Ensure scalability, redundancy, and fault tolerance in the data centre architecture to support business growth and continuity.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as hardware upgrades, firmware updates, and system patches, to keep the data centre infrastructure up-to-date and secure.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability using monitoring tools and implement proactive measures to address potential issues.
- Respond to data centre incidents, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions to restore service operations within defined SLAs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of data centre configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications, such as VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent certifications.
- Strong IT/data centre skills and experience.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing, and switching concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach to issue resolution.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on business needs.
