Senior Developer – Business Solutions Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer to join our team in Sandton. This role combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of regulations, ensuring that systems adhere to legal standards while remaining efficient and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Crafting departmental business plans to deliver focus areas in support of IT strategy;
  • Applying cost effectiveness principles in planning and delivery to contribute to divisional financial targets;
  • Providing input into the formalisation of the divisional budget;
  • Managing allocated budgets by tracking costs;

In addition, the ideal candidate will:

  • Build strategic relationships with industry leaders and maintain on-going collaborate relationships with business through structured processes and ad hoc customer contact;
  • Familiarise themselves with business requirements by attending relevant meetings with associates to share knowledge and play expected roles in various projects;
  • Comply with Service Level Agreements by ensuring applications are developed, implemented and supported in line with cost, quality and timelines;

This is a permanent position based in Sandton. The salary for this role is approximately R1 200 000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Information Technology;
  • 5 years' experience using multiple Microsoft technologies and platforms, including .Net framework, .Net core, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Blazer advantageous), Microsoft SQL server, Oracle database, ASP.Net - MVC, CSS3, HTML5, exposure to NoSQL and Mango DB, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure DevOps, Azure services), lower networking (OSI Model) TCP/UDP programming, .Net Entity framework and Entity framework core, basic software applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet, Email), software design (proficiency in refactoring, SOLID principles, Design Patterns and Clear Application Architecture), testable code (experience in writing testable code and exposure to TDD), CI/CD Environments (familiarity with continuous integration and delivery environments) and experience with microservices technology (preferably rest services API).
