About the Role

Vestas is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing intermediate level wind turbine maintenance and installation tasks, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our wind turbines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety standards and procedures, promoting a safe work environment and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative, integrity, and a focus on quality, with the ability to mentor and assist less experienced staff.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including the operation and use of specialized tools and equipment, and document tasks as required.
  • Diagnose and resolve routine issues, seeking assistance when necessary to ensure successful resolution.
  • Follow structured problem-solving processes to complete troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks, using diagnostic tools and equipment as needed.
  • Promote a strong team environment, assisting teammates in achieving goals and mentoring lower-level technical staff.
  • Interface with customers, responding to inquiries and referring complex issues to higher-level technical staff or management.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one year's technical wind industry experience, or six months' experience and a certificate from a Wind Technician program.
  • Trade-tested in mechanical or electrical work.
  • Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate-level power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to demonstrate industrial safety practices and protocols, including confined space and energy isolation.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.
  • Strong attention to detail, execution excellence, and good interpersonal and customer relation skills.
  • Basic computer operation skills and ability to generate and interpret computer data.

Competencies

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift, push, pull, and carry items up to a certain weight.
  • Ability to frequently walk, stand, look up/down, balance, stoop, twist, kneel, and bend, and grip and manually manipulate items.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write in English, and participate in all training courses.
  • Ability to hear and see, including perceiving depth and distinguishing colors, sufficient to perform job functions.
