About Corruption Watch
Corruption Watch is a reputable South African non-profit organisation with a strong track record of combating corruption. Our mission is to promote transparency and accountability in governance.
We are seeking an experienced consultant to join our Land and Corruption project team for a three-month period (subject to renewal). The role will involve conducting legal and accounting research, with a focus on auditing financial records and providing legal analysis on policies and procedures related to land governance.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Reviewing and analysing existing budgets and spending of government land departments at national and provincial levels since the inception of the democratic dispensation.
2. Assessing the suitability and appropriateness of past and current laws, policies and procedures applied in land programmes in terms of anti-corruption best practice and cost-effectiveness.
3. Developing proposals and recommendations that promote fair, equitable, transparent, accountable and corrupt-free values and practices in the rollout of land programmes in South Africa.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
1. A minimum of five years of experience in either or both legal and accounting research.
2. Experience working in the land sector is highly desirable.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive monthly salary of R250,000 - R300,000, commensurate with experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
