We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Curiska.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and effective budgeting and forecasting. They will also oversee internal controls, audits, and treasury functions, as well as drive process optimization through collaboration with IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements, management reports, and board presentations to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage tax filings, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax, to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize liabilities.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Internal Controls & Audit: Assist with audits and help maintain internal financial controls to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Treasury & Cash Flow Management: Monitor and report on cash flow, assisting with banking relationships and ensuring optimal liquidity.
  • Financial Systems & Process Optimization: Collaborate with finance and IT teams to enhance financial systems, improving reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A BCom Accounting, Financial Management, or related degree.
  • Completion of SAICA articles (required).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Xero, QuickBooks).
  • A strong understanding of IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Some post-article experience or internships in a finance role is advantageous but not essential.
