Job Summary

Kencorp is seeking a skilled Toolmaker Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and production of tooling for our manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop precision tooling for plastic injection moulding, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and requirements.
  • Manufacture tooling components using various machining techniques and materials, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Assemble tooling components and dies, ensuring proper alignment, functioning, and optimum performance.
  • Maintain and repair moulds, and implement tooling/equipment maintenance measures to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Perform quality checks and inspections of finished and repaired tooling/components, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize injection moulding processes, making recommendations for tooling improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety regulations and policies, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of tooling register, specifications, maintenance, and repairs, providing valuable insights for process improvements.

Requirements

  • Matric or relevant N2/3 qualification.
  • Red seal Qualified Tool and Die Maker.
  • 6-10 years of experience working as a Tool and Die Maker in the plastic moulding industry.
  • Able to read and understand drawings, schematics, diagrams, and CAD models.
  • Ability to use a variety of machinery to manufacture and assemble high-quality and reliable tooling for production and repairs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Market-related salary, subject to relevant qualification, experience, and track record.
  • South African Citizens only.
