Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Mindworx Consulting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain large-scale database systems on z/OS DB2 platforms.
  • Develop and execute database performance tuning strategies to optimize system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database security, backup, and recovery procedures are in place.
  • Participate in disaster recovery exercises and provide after-hours support as required.
  • Travel to client sites as needed to provide on-site support.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years as an operational DBA in a large corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe operating system concepts and experience in another mainframe discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working with z/OS DB2 databases.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Strong programming background and experience with database utilities, such as DB2 Admin and Spufi.
