We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to join our team at Boardroom Appointments.

Estimated Salary:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.

About the Role:

This is a critical position that requires a high level of technical expertise in system administration, virtualization, and storage. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex IT systems, ensuring their availability, performance, and security.

The Technical Lead - System Architect will be responsible for installing and configuring new base operating systems, patching operating systems and software, and managing the availability and performance of systems. They will also design and implement methods of upgrading solutions, monitor availability and performance, and access management: create, modify, and revoke user access control lists.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a set of general system controls required to provide the necessary assurance to the Governing Authority, monitoring and managing backups, performance and functionality troubleshooting, service management, security compliance: baselines, anti-virus, anti-malware, access control, auditing, monitoring, tuning, and configuring the VMware environment, monitoring and configuring the storage stack, and managing firewalls.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • 5 years of system administration experience with Microsoft and Open-Source operating environments, network troubleshooting, security principles, DBMS experience, application and web technologies, identity management, governance, and compliance practices
  • 5 years of experience providing input on improving availability and configuring
  • 5 years of experience performing system administration adhering to typical governance controls, including configuration management, access management, change control, incident management, problem management, inventory management, etc.
  • 5 years of virtualization experience
  • 5 years of storage/SAN/iSCSI experience
  • 5 years of firewall experience
  • 5 years of firewall in security administration
  • VMware (VCTA or higher)
  • Any relevant vendor/storage certification
  • Fortinet Certified Professional
  • CompTIA Security +
  • Linux (Ubuntu)
  • Windows (Server 2019, 2022)
  • Virtualization (VMware)
  • Containerization (Docker)
  • Storage (Dell EMC, HP Nimble, general SAN, iSCSI)
