Regulatory Compliance Director

Are you a seasoned compliance expert eager to spearhead regulatory efforts in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Initiate International is seeking a highly motivated Compliance Manager to lead our compliance program in Durban.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the compliance framework for multiple gaming licenses in Kwazulu-Natal, Western Cape, and Mpumalanga, ensuring seamless compliance with licensing conditions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for provincial Gaming and Betting Boards, managing all communications and requirements.
- Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to stay ahead of regulatory changes.
- Spearhead B-BBEE and transformation initiatives that align with our organization's strategic objectives.
- Represent the company at inspections, meetings, and public hearings with Gaming and Betting Boards.
- Manage the annual renewal process for Managers and Bookmakers licenses, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Submit quarterly compliance reports to Gaming Boards, guaranteeing prompt and accurate delivery.
- Ensure legal compliance at all retail outlets, conducting regular audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Draft and manage all compliance-related correspondence, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain the Risk Management and Compliance Programme (RMCP), ensuring it remains current and effectively communicated to team members.
- Conduct monthly FICA audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Lead FICA training sessions, equipping the team with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain compliance standards.
- Oversee the company's B-BBEE initiatives, ensuring compliance with Gaming Board requirements and national codes.
- Manage the annual B-BBEE verification process, recommending strategic improvements to enhance our score.
- Track social responsibility and enterprise development projects, ensuring accurate reporting and meaningful outcomes.
- Develop the company's annual training budget and monitor workplace skills plans, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Requirements:
- Relevant diploma or certification in compliance, law, or a related field.
- 2-5 years' experience in a similar compliance role, ideally within the gaming or highly regulated industries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Expertise in drafting policies and procedures with a solid understanding of risk management.
- Sharp analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communicator—both written and verbal, with an ability to simplify complex compliance matters.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a knack for staying organized.
- The ability to work well under pressure, balancing multiple tasks without missing a beat.
- Flexibility to adapt to an industry that's always changing, and a passion for staying ahead of the game.
