Customer Service Agent

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Service Agent to join our team at World Courier South Africa (Proprietary) Ltd. As a key member of our Customer Service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle all client inquiries received via phone or email, providing timely and accurate responses to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Action all emails received and handle transparently on the shared Customer Service mailbox, ensuring that all communication is clear and concise.
  • Receive bookings via phone, email, and the Customer Portal, updating them in the Transport Management System (TMS) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Keep clients fully updated as to the status of their shipments, especially regarding any delays, ensuring that they are informed and satisfied with the service provided.
  • Support the Customer Service Strategy to ensure that the customer is receiving the best overall service, working closely with the Operations department and Sales department as needed.
  • Communicate with and support the Operations department as well as the Sales department whenever required, ensuring that all teams are aligned and working towards the same goals.
Requirements:
  • Able to follow procedures and instructions, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Able to take on projects at the request of management, demonstrating a proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Able to provide relevant information on request, with excellent communication skills - verbally and written.
  • Background environment in the courier/freight industry, with a strong understanding of logistics and transportation processes.
  • Matric/Grade 12, with a strong educational background and a passion for learning and development.
