We are seeking a dedicated professional to step into the role of Manager - Internal Audit within our Group Internal Audit (GIA) team, located in Cape Town. GIA functions as an independent entity reporting to the Maersk Board and the Audit Committee. We conduct risk-based global audits utilizing the COSO framework. In this position, you will encounter a diverse and challenging array of business issues through regular interactions with key stakeholders across all management levels within the organization.

GIA is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, with additional offices in various locations. Our audit teams are often composed of colleagues from different regions, fostering a diverse team of 42 professionals from various nationalities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit for the Africa Region, you will engage in financial, operational, enterprise risk, ESG, and other audits under the guidance of a Senior Internal Audit Manager. This role includes evaluating and advising on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control framework and environment, as well as controls related to financial reporting, investments, and asset protection across all Group businesses.
During the planning phase, you will conduct a risk assessment and develop an audit program and internal control questionnaire. During fieldwork, you will be responsible for one or more areas of the audit, conducting interviews and documenting results. Together with the Lead Auditor, you will present findings during the closing meeting.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in Internal Auditing
- A professional accounting or audit qualification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred
- Experience in similar capital-intensive industries, such as oil & gas, shipping, mining, construction, automotive, or freight forwarding, is advantageous
- Proficiency in data analysis to support findings, utilizing MS Excel or more advanced tools
- Ability to understand the broader context while focusing on details based on risk assessments to consistently deliver quality results within agreed timelines
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, demonstrated through strong report writing skills
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally for business purposes
