As a seasoned Fleet Management Expert, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our national fleet and maintenance operations. Based at Triton Express Johannesburg, you will report directly to the Branch Manager and be responsible for overseeing the entire fleet management process.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and ensure that all outsourced work meets quality standards before accepting and making payment.
  • Coordinate regular fleet inspections and minor repairs in collaboration with operations.
  • Monitor and rectify daily tyre checks for tread depth, matching tyres, mismatched tyres, and tyre pressure issues, reporting any problems to the General Manager as needed.
  • Ensure timely vehicle servicing, notify the Branch Manager of any delays.
  • Develop and maintain a network of service providers for after-hours breakdown assistance.
  • Continuously follow up with service providers until the issue is resolved and the vehicle is operational.
  • Maintain accurate records of breakdown/repair costs, scrutinize invoices for accuracy before signing off.
  • Guarantee the highest standard of repairs and maintenance at all times.
  • Monitor fuel consumption daily, weekly, and monthly, addressing any deviations.
  • Address accident/incident damage promptly, complete investigations, and supply feedback reports.
  • Verify Roadworthiness of all vehicles.
  • Ensure correct licenses are displayed on applicable vehicles.
  • Maintain vehicle details on Freightware.
  • Foster adherence to operational policies and procedures, suggesting improvements where necessary.
Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) minimum qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Fleet Management.
  • Background in the transport industry.
  • Basic mechanical understanding.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Familiarity with Fleet Management Programs.
  • Tyre and Diesel Management knowledge.
  • Computer literacy, email, and Excel intermediate skills.
  • Numerical computation and analysis abilities.
  • Excellent time management.
  • A valid unendorsed driver's license (Code 10).
  • Ability to work unsociable hours.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet set targets.
  • Effective communication skills across various levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently for most of the time.
