Job Title: Assistant Director: Quantitative Analyst

Nexia SAB&T is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantitative Analyst to join our team in Pretoria. As an Assistant Director, you will play a key role in supporting the health product value chain requirements by utilizing business and market analysis to improve data governance, including forecasting and big data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage pharmaceutical tenders forecasting, including updating and finalizing specification item lists, collecting data, and preparing baseline statistical forecasts.
  • Develop contracting close out reports, including preparing and submitting tender close out reports and contract close out reports.
  • Conduct data acquisition and governance for medicine use analysis purposes, including weekly extraction and submission of facility reporting data and management of queries.
  • Institutionalize the National Surveillance Centre, including weekly extraction and submission of facility reporting data and management of queries.
  • Manage risk, including complying with operational plans, ensuring filing and record-keeping are auditable, and maintaining knowledge management and risk management plans.
Requirements:
  • A minimum qualification of a three-year bachelor's degree or national diploma in information or computer sciences, mathematics, or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification.
  • 2-3 years' relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency in statistics, forecasting, and planning methods, with an understanding of their operational impacts.
  • Good understanding of big data techniques, knowledge of master data management protocols and techniques, and knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practice relating to information and communication technologies.
  • Programming skills, including SQL, and excellent quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in data-mining and visual analytics, risk management, communication and presentation skills, and ability to communicate technical content to non-technical staff.
  • Planning, organizational, and administrative skills, computer literacy, and ability to work independently and function as part of a broader team.
