Executive Mayor Office Manager Position

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Executive Mayor Office Manager at Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.
This is a fixed-term contract linked to the term of office of the current Executive Mayor, providing an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to make a meaningful impact in municipal administration.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for managing the office of the Executive Mayor, overseeing staff and administrative aspects, developing and implementing strategies and policies, and ensuring effective financial management within the office.
The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to probe deeply and consider consequences and risks attached to actions. They will also demonstrate accountability and ethical conduct, promoting transparent and accountable municipal administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the office of the Executive Mayor, ensuring efficient and effective operations
- Oversee staff and administrative aspects, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation
- Develop and implement strategies and policies aligned with the municipality's goals and objectives
- Ensure effective financial management and controls within the office
Requirements
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A three-year tertiary Diploma in Public Administration or equivalent NQF level qualification
- A valid driver's license
- Five years of relevant experience, with two years in middle management and three years in senior management
Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this position is R550,000 - R650,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
