Experienced Civil Engineering Quantity Surveyor Needed for a Mid-Level Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our successful team at Garden Route Recruitment Solutions in George, South Africa. As a mid-level Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting in the estimation, costing, and contractual management of construction projects.

In this role, you will work closely with senior surveyors and project managers to ensure accurate cost projections and financial control throughout the construction process. You must have a qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction and at least 3-5 years of experience as a Site QS for contractors.

You should be fluent in English and Afrikaans, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, you should be proficient with industry-standard software and tools, innovative, and have excellent problem-solving skills. You must also have attention to detail and accuracy, above-average organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include preparing tender and contract documents, conducting accurate cost analysis, estimates, and forecasting for construction projects, creating and submitting tenders to Project Managers and clients, and collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to review and negotiate project proposals.

You will also be responsible for conducting site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with contractual specifications, preparing progress reports, change orders, and payment certificates, monitoring expenditures to ensure contracts adhere to budgets, and maintaining accurate project records, including measurement records and cost documentation.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and technologies, exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, and the ability to interpret construction plans and specifications accurately.
