Dexterous Cost Estimator and Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our team at R.A.W. GROUP.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and proactive individual to take on the challenge of preparing estimates, cost plans, and schedules for various construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering data, conducting research, and communicating with clients to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, specifications, and schedules of rates for new build, improvement, and maintenance work.
- Conduct preliminary estimates for conceptual projects, considering key variables such as labour costs, materials, and production times.
- Determine key factors influencing cost and other estimates, ensuring accurate project budgeting.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each project's requirements and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses, or other relevant venues to inform project decisions.
- Research and compile data on labour costs, materials, and production times to support accurate estimating.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project progression, confirm payments, and track open job cards.
- National Senior Certificate.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Tertiary education is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficiency in both Afrikaans and English languages.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Competency in Microsoft applications.
- An ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- A valid driver's license.
- Product knowledge of laser cutting, structural steel, and metalwork is advantageous.

R.A.W. GROUP offers a competitive salary package, commensurate with industry standards, which we estimate to be around R250,000 - R350,000 per annum, depending on experience.
