Job Summary:

VIER PFOTEN International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our programmes and campaigns in South Africa. As the Head of Programmes and Campaigns, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our organisational strategy, leading and managing our programmes team, and building and managing external partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Organisational Strategy: Develop and implement our organisational strategy in South Africa, aligned with our global mission and vision.
  • Lead and Manage Programmes Team: Lead and manage our programmes team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver our programmes and campaigns.
  • Build and Manage External Partnerships: Build and manage external partnerships with key stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and private sector organisations.
  • Develop and Manage Programmes Budget: Develop and manage our programmes budget, ensuring we have the necessary resources to deliver our programmes and campaigns.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Programmes: Monitor and evaluate our programmes and campaigns, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Experience: Several years of experience in programme management and leadership, preferably in an NGO environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge of the South African legal framework as it pertains to animal welfare, strategic thinking, excellent presentation and communication skills, planning and organisational skills, and fluency in written and spoken English and native/national language.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as animal welfare, conservation, or business administration.
