Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Component Design Engineer to join our team at Profile Personnel. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a key role in ensuring the development and implementation of high-quality electrical components for automotive applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and introduce locally manufactured electrical components that meet local market requirements
  • Adapt and develop German-sourced designs to be compatible with local environmental conditions
  • Issue technical data in line with the correct component engineering level to meet the following criteria: products are built problem-free, local requirements are met, unique product features are achieved, safety and reliability in service are ensured, discontinued models but still required in South Africa are addressed, and adhering to the Product Emergence Process (PEP) manual
Possible Tasks within this Role:
  • The release of electrical components for vehicles
  • The resolution of design-related problems on all locally manufactured platforms
  • Coordination of testing and release of components and systems, locally and at source
  • Maintenance and updating of the Bill of Materials system
  • Problem analysis
  • Maintenance and updating of the bill of materials system
  • Cost analysis of various components, systems, and projects
  • Cost-saving (PKO) initiation and investigations
  • Project management on new or changed systems and components
Requirements:
  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering)
  • Minimum 5 years' design and development experience in an automotive components for volume production
  • High level of understanding of technical/engineering concepts and design
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem resolution capability
  • Project management capability
  • Good interpersonal skills (team and negotiating skills)
  • Ability to lead and operate within a team
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • High degree of computer literacy (MS Office package, CAD)
  • Ability to work and complete tasks without supervision
  • Ability to apply preventative and corrective tools and methods during the development process
Estimated Salary Range:

R650,000 - R850,000 per annum, depending on experience.
