Solar Service Technician - Thermal Energy Systems

Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled Solar Service Technician to join our client's team in Cape Town. As a key member of the Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly to service requests, accurately diagnose and troubleshoot issues with solar thermal and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections and maintenance of solar thermal and HVAC systems, adhering to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Perform repairs, replacements, and system upgrades following best practices, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and company quality standards.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including system condition, repairs performed, and materials used.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients on system operations and maintenance, collaborating with other departments for efficient service delivery.
Requirements:
  • National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Technical certification in solar thermal systems or HVAC systems is an advantage.
  • Proven experience as a Service Technician in solar thermal or HVAC maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong technical knowledge of solar thermal systems, HVAC technologies, and related equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose complex issues and solve problems quickly, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic layouts, plumbing, and electrical systems used in hot water generation and space heating/cooling.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
