Main Responsibilities:
  • Workforce Management: Coordinate and develop a team of 40 permanent workers and up to 500 seasonal workers to ensure efficient citrus farm operations.
  • Pest and Disease Management: Implement effective strategies to control diseases and pests, minimizing damage to the citrus crop.
  • Crop Management: Oversee the water and fertilizer management, pruning, and establishment of new orchards to optimize citrus production.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and documentation of farm activities, including audits and quality control measures.
  • Practical Maintenance: Ensure the farm's equipment and infrastructure are well-maintained to support smooth operations.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 qualification
  • Relevant qualifications in Agriculture will be beneficial
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Citrus Farm Manager, preferably on a large citrus farm
  • Strong managerial skills, with the ability to efficiently manage a large team
  • Basic computer literacy in MS Office
  • Excellent linguistic skills in Afrikaans and English, with Xhosa being beneficial
  • Valid driver's license
