Job SummaryThis role involves driving student achievement by maintaining high expectations for classroom culture, behavior, and academic growth for all students. The successful candidate will receive ongoing professional development tailored to their past experience and individual needs.
The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the SPARK Schools 'culture' and our commitment to rigorous, engaging learning experiences for our scholars.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver lessons to students, in isiZulu (FAL) and PE, depending on the grade level and timetable.
- Provide instruction in various subjects and reach students with engaging lesson plans and resources.
- Collaborate with grade level and content area partners to develop rigorous, engaging learning experiences and create individualized behavior and learning plans for all students.
- Lead weekly SEL circles and implement the SPARK Schools Social Emotional Learning curriculum.
- Use SPARK culture and implement behavior management strategies.
- Administer and mark weekly and termly formative and summative assessments to track student progress and analyze data for student growth.
- Drive all scholars to meet required proficiency ratings and submit student results data when required.
- Attend pre-service professional development before the school year begins and participate in weekly professional development and any other training interventions.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Nurture a high-achieving work environment where all students feel genuinely valued and supported.
- B.Ed. degree or PGCE - Intermediate/Senior Phase with isiZulu as a Major Subject.
- Certification through the South African Council of Educators (SACE).
- English and isiZulu languages fluency.
- A clear/clean criminal record.
