The Role

We're seeking an experienced AML Operations Specialist to join our team in South Africa. As a key member of our Anti-Money Laundering Operations team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our global business.

Working closely with our Transaction Monitoring Team Lead, you'll be responsible for executing transaction monitoring alerts, regulatory reporting activities, and regulatory requests. You'll also contribute to the development of our AML Policy framework and overall Risk Management and Compliance Programme.

Your Responsibilities
  • Execute transaction monitoring alerts and regulatory reporting activities in accordance with our AML Policy framework and RMCP.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations into customer profiles, using internal investigation tools such as Chainalysis KYT and Chainalysis Reactor.
  • Manage and draft responses to standard and ad-hoc regulatory requests, as well as to banking partners and other ad-hoc requests for information.
  • Collaborate with our Engineering, Product, and Legal teams to ensure seamless integration with our global business.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of AML regulations and developments in legislation, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • Tertiary education to the equivalent of a graduate degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an AML and CTF related field.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • High proficiency in English and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with cryptocurrencies is highly advantageous.
