Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Maternity Unit Leader to oversee the operational practices of our client's maternity unit in Cape Town, WC.

About the Role:

  • Lead and manage the maternity unit to ensure high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Supervise and support a team of nurses and healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement unit protocols and procedures in line with best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies.
  • Oversee administrative functions, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a collaborative and supportive work environment focused on team development.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse qualification with valid SANC registration.
  • A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within a maternity unit.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of maternity care best practices and legal guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and growth.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: R800,000 - R1,200,000 per annum (negotiable).
