Senior Tax Clerk Job Description

RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Clerk to join their team in Cape Town. This is a full-time, office-based position with standard working hours, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit tax returns, including EMP201, EMP501, and VAT201, in accordance with South African tax laws.
  • Manage a team of 1-2 staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with employees across different departments to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Attend SARS meetings as the company representative and address SARS queries on tax-related matters.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance or Taxation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with Sage and Xero.
  • Fluent in SARS eFiling and Easyfile.
  • Knowledge of South African VAT and Tax laws.
  • 1 Year post articles experience.
