Incident Response Specialist

Gijima Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Incident Response Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for detecting, responding to, and containing security incidents to minimize their impact on our operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Incident Detection & Response: Monitor security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools and other monitoring systems, and respond promptly to security incidents, including malware infections, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
- Digital Forensics: Conduct forensic investigations on compromised systems to identify the scope of incidents and gather evidence, and utilize forensic tools to analyze data and recover lost information from affected systems.
- Threat Analysis: Analyze security incidents to identify patterns, root causes, and vulnerabilities that may have been exploited, and stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends to inform incident response strategies.
- Policy Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to incident response policies and procedures as established by the Information Security & Cyber Security Department, and maintain accurate records of all incidents, investigations, and responses in compliance with university policies and legal requirements.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with the Incident Response and Forensic Manager to provide updates on ongoing investigations and incidents, and collaborate with IT staff to ensure effective remediation of vulnerabilities and threats identified during investigations.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in incident response, digital forensics, or a related cybersecurity field.
- Familiarity with security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS) and forensic analysis software.
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and analyze complex security incidents.
- Proficient in using digital forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Autopsy) for incident investigations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information clearly.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple incidents simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and integrity in handling sensitive information.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), or similar are highly preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance regarding data breaches and cybersecurity is advantageous.
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours in response to critical incidents when necessary.
