Hugenote Kollege, a renowned private Christian post-school training institution in Wellington, is seeking an exceptional Academic Director to spearhead its growth and development. This exciting opportunity comes with an estimated salary of $150,000 - $180,000 per annum.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management across various functions, including academic management, course/program management, human resources, external liaison, marketing, financial oversight, IT, infrastructure, risk management, and administrative management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a vision for the college's academic growth and development, aligned with its Christian character and missional calling.
  • Academic Management: Oversee the pedagogy, formation of learning programs, and program management, ensuring a high-quality educational experience for students.
  • Course/Program Management: Manage the overall delivery of courses and programs, ensuring they meet the needs of students and stakeholders.
  • Human Resources: Lead the strategic HR management function, focusing on talent acquisition, retention, and development.
  • External Liaison and Marketing: Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, promoting the college's brand and reputation.
  • Financial Oversight: Provide strategic financial guidance, ensuring the college's financial stability and sustainability.
  • IT, Infrastructure, and Assets: Oversee the management of IT systems, infrastructure, and assets, ensuring they support the college's academic and operational needs.
  • Risk Management and Reporting: Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Administrative Management: Lead the administrative team, ensuring efficient and effective support services for students and staff.
Requirements
  • Relevant Qualifications: A doctorate in Human Sciences, Theology, or Social Work is highly recommended.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a similar executive managerial role, preferably in higher education.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional visionary leadership, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Knowledge and Insight: Professional knowledge and insight regarding strategic and operational business functioning, as well as the ecclesiastical and social environment.
  • Legislation and Best Practices: Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, structures, and best practices/methodology of education & training (Higher Education and FET).
  • Negotiation and Facilitation Skills: Well-developed negotiation and facilitation skills are necessary.
  • Administrative Skills: Proven administrative skills, including management of IT, finance, and HR.
  • Christian Values: Balanced Christian theology, values system, and philosophy of life are essential.
  • Attitude: Display an attitude of kind-heartedness, compassion, and servant leadership.
