Headhunters is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Food Safety Specialist to join our team.

Job Description:

As a Senior Food Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive food safety strategies across various sectors. Your expertise in HACCP, GMP, FSMS, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, GLOBALG.A.P, and SIZA will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety are maintained.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in a food-related field, such as Food Technology, Agriculture, Consumer Science, or Microbiology, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a food environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing tailored project plans to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Managing implementation projects to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project proposals.
  • Creating, updating, and tailoring compliance documents and checklists to meet client requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Conducting gap audits, internal audits, hygiene audits, and readiness audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Preparing and facilitating training interventions to enhance knowledge and skills of clients and staff.
  • Coordinating and planning training schedules with the Marketing and Sales Manager.

You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop effective solutions to address their food safety concerns.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a food-related field (Food Technology, Agriculture, Consumer Science, or Microbiology).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a food environment.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, FSMS, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, GLOBALG.A.P, and SIZA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, with possible overnight stays.
  • Fluency in English and Afrikaans.
