Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the Pastry station is maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness before each shift, adhering to MSC Sanitation Standards.
  • Notify your superior of any missing, damaged, or unusable equipment.
  • Prepare pastry products as specified by the Executive Chef, guaranteeing food safety and high quality.
  • Verify temperatures and condition of all materials in the section, stored in assigned refrigerators, on hot tops, or at room temperature.
  • Discard any potentially hazardous sauces or items of food that do not comply with safety requirements.
  • Use only surplus foods that are safe and free from contamination or degradation.
  • Produce alternative pastry products for guests with specific dietary requirements, as required by the Executive Chef.
  • Comply with all MSC Sanitation Standards for food handlers, including wearing single-use gloves, head coverings, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Understand and adhere to MSC Sanitation Standards for food safety, respecting temperatures, sanitation, storage, labeling, and cross-contamination prevention measures.
  • Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment, ensuring the rights of personnel to individualism, dignity, and self-respect.
  • Order and collect daily supplies from the Storerooms, ensuring no partly used items are returned.
  • Minimize food spoilage and participate in other related duties within the scope of competence.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum requirement: High school graduate.
  • Preferred: Completed Technical education in Hospitality or Culinary School.
  • Certified in Food Safety/HACCP.
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical knowledge of Food Safety.
  • Proven ability to work in a harmonious, productive team environment.
  • 1 year's work experience in a hotel establishment or cruise line in a similar position.
