Position: Finance Operations Manager

As a Finance Operations Manager at Cochrane Global, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the organization towards enhanced profitability through effective financial strategies and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:


• Execute financial oversight duties, including the generation of financial reports, analysis of market trends, and evaluation of the organization's fiscal health.


• Lead the finance department's operations and growth, encompassing policy development, budgeting processes, recruitment, training, and regular evaluations of financial practices.


• Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reconciliations, ensuring compliance with tax obligations and financial reporting standards while assisting in cash flow projections.


• Provide strategic financial advice to colleagues and senior management regarding the company's financial decisions.


• Manage the documentation of the organization's financial position and forecasts.


• Facilitate discussions between the organization, employees, stakeholders, and investors on financial matters to resolve discrepancies amicably.


• Develop strategic business plans based on comprehensive analyses of the company's financial status and forecasts.

Required Skills:


• Strong expertise in financial analysis and strategic planning.


• Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.


• Profound understanding of financial reporting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations.


• Excellent analytical and detail-oriented skills.


• Strong interpersonal and negotiation capabilities.

Qualifications:


• Minimum educational requirement: Matric with an average of 65% or higher in Mathematics.


• Preferred qualifications include an Honours Degree or Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business studies, or a related field, with preference for candidates who qualified before or during 2012.


• Must be a qualified CA (SA) and possess Level 3 Tax Compliance experience.


• Level 4 Financial Accounting experience is required for handling complex accounting tasks.


• Professional registration with SAICA is mandatory.


• A minimum of 10 years of relevant management experience in a manufacturing or operational setting is essential.


• Demonstrated understanding of business operations, financial management, and attention to detail.


• Fluency in Afrikaans and English is required.


• Strong knowledge of South African income tax, VAT, and other tax regulations.


• High proficiency in computer skills, particularly in MS Office and Excel.


• Experience in a financial environment and familiarity with online financial applications is advantageous.


• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.


• The ideal candidate will have experience in leading and collaborating with a team of accountants.


• A commitment to teamwork, integrity, and confidentiality is essential.


• Must possess strong decision-making skills and the ability to foster professional relationships.


• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting practices, along with the capability to create advanced macros and develop high-level spreadsheets and financial models.
