Job DescriptionJob Summary

The Inventory Management Lead will be responsible for overseeing the entire stock control process, ensuring efficient inventory management practices, and accurate records for the smooth functioning of mining production, maintenance, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inventory control strategies that ensure cost-effective practices while maintaining operational readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements, purchases, and usage of raw materials, parts, equipment, and consumables.
  • Analyze and monitor inventory turnover rates, usage trends, and stock levels to improve inventory efficiency and reduce wastage.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely ordering and replenishment of stock.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
  • Ensure that stock is stored, handled, and managed according to safety regulations and best practices, including hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, explosives).
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing inventory and supply chain processes.
  • Work closely with the safety and environmental teams to ensure compliance with mining safety standards.
Team Leadership and Continuous Improvement:
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to junior stock controllers and warehouse staff.
  • Train staff on stock control processes, inventory systems, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory control and stock management practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in inventory management, stock control, or supply chain management, with at least 2–3 years in the mining sector or a related industry.
  • Expertise in stock control techniques, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
