Job Title: Viticulturist

Exceed Human Resource Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Viticulturist to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Cellar Master and be responsible for the following key areas:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality wine grape growing, including soil management, pruning, establishment of new vineyards, pest and weed control, canopy management, irrigation, and harvesting.
  • Management and development of personnel to improve productivity, including record keeping and production reports.
  • Quality management, ensuring compliance with IPW, WIETA, and Fairtrade accreditations.
  • Management of grape production budget and operating costs in collaboration with management.
  • Management of off-site vineyards under contract and communication with growers to optimize quality.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Approximately 3-5 years' experience in a similar management position.
  • Good knowledge of farm equipment and mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant quality control systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (Afrikaans and English).
  • Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, EzyWine).
