About the Role:
The Clinical Governance Quality Leader will assume a broad level of accountability for the outcomes of care within a specific geographical area. You will be responsible for ensuring the improvement of all modalities of clinical outcomes for the area under your management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and analyze clinical data to inform quality improvement initiatives and ensure accurate reporting of clinical outcomes.
- Clinical Needs Assessment and Intervention: Collaborate with operations teams to identify clinical needs in the region and develop interventions to address these needs, ensuring timely and effective implementation of clinical pathways and bundles of care.
- Quality Improvement Initiatives: Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives, including the development and review of clinical policies and procedures, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Training and Education: Provide training and education to staff on clinical policies and procedures, ensuring that all team members are equipped to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Project Management: Manage allocated special projects regionally, including vascular access, Cath-away, nephron, and the patient app, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
- Research and Development: Participate in research and development initiatives, collaborating with clinical departments and unit managers to identify and develop unit-specific education and outcome goals.
- Quality Management Programs: Ensure quality management programs are in place and functional in the units, participating in QI meetings to address areas for improvement and formulate action plans.
Requirements:
- Registration and Qualifications: Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner or registration with the South African Nursing Council as a registered nurse/midwife is essential. A MBChB degree in Medicine or a Master's degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Clinical Technologist: Nephrology or a BMed in Clinical Practice is also essential.
- Experience and Skills: Relevant experience in nephrology will be preferred, as well as project management and improvement methodology experience. Extensive travel nationally is also required.
