Reports To: Principal or Assistant Principal

Purpose of Role:

The Foundation Phase Mathematics Educators at SPARK Schools play a crucial role in driving student success by upholding high standards for classroom culture, behavior, and academic progress for every learner.

As specialists in the Foundation Phase, our Mathematics Educators receive ongoing professional development tailored to their previous experience and individual needs.

These educators are vital to the SPARK Schools' ethos and our commitment to providing rigorous and engaging learning experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

● Prepare and deliver engaging lessons to students.

● Provide instruction across various subjects, utilizing captivating lesson plans and resources.

● Collaborate with colleagues to design rigorous and engaging learning experiences and develop individualized behavior and learning plans for all students, whether in-person or online.

● Facilitate weekly Social Emotional Learning (SEL) circles and implement the SPARK Schools SEL curriculum.

● Employ SPARK culture and implement effective behavior management strategies.

● Conduct weekly and termly assessments to monitor student progress and analyze data for growth.

● Focus on student achievement, guiding all learners to meet required proficiency standards.

● Submit student performance data as needed.

● Participate in pre-service professional development before the academic year and attend weekly professional development sessions and additional training opportunities.

● Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.

● Maintain professionalism at all SPARK Schools events and interactions with stakeholders.

● Foster a high-achieving environment where all students feel valued and supported.

● Attend community events and parent meetings.

● Implement strategies from the Crisis Management team as necessary.

● Adhere to child protection, anti-bullying, and health and safety policies.

● Promote the vision and mission of SPARK Schools to staff, students, families, and the broader community.

Qualifications and Criteria:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

● A B.Ed. degree, H.Dip.Ed., or PGCE in Foundation Phase education. Recently qualified educators are encouraged to apply.

● Certification from the South African Council of Educators (SACE).

● SAQA accreditation for non-South African equivalent qualifications.

● Proficiency in the English language.

● A clear criminal record.

Experience:

● Recently qualified educators or those with prior teaching experience are encouraged to apply.

R 20,400.00 per month cost to company
