Overview:
RPO Recruitment is looking for two experienced Site Engineers to facilitate the successful execution of high-quality construction projects within established timelines and budgets. This position requires effective coordination among all stakeholders and the implementation of processes that maximize efficiency and cost control throughout the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management:
    Identify and address potential risks proactively.
  • Prepare risk assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Focus on opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.
  • Engage in peer reviews and audits, both internal and external.
  • Planning and Organization:
  • Utilize construction programs and planning methodologies effectively.
  • Work closely with the Site Agent and Planner to develop project schedules.
  • Communicate program requirements clearly and accurately.
  • Coordinate site preparation and implementation of works.
  • Strategically manage project execution, ensuring collaboration between site and office teams.
  • Oversee planning, costing, and contract management processes.
  • Ensure project activities align with contractual obligations, minimizing waste and overtime.
  • Project Execution:
  • Monitor and manage overall project progress, costs, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to effective cost management.
  • Manage construction equipment and resources efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications and drawings for timely completion.
  • Systematically coordinate work and explore cost-effective solutions for equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with the Client's Resident Engineer and Clerk of Works for timely inspections and approvals.
  • Address queries related to construction information provided by the professional team.
  • Manage sample and shop drawing approvals effectively.
  • Prioritize long lead items to prevent project delays.
  • Reporting:
  • Provide comprehensive management reports highlighting both positive and negative project variations.
  • Detail actions taken to mitigate impacts on project timelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of Contract Reports.
  • Offer technical support to fulfill client requirements.
  • Maintain a daily site diary for information tracking.
  • Update a delay diary to manage project scheduling.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Engineering or Construction Management relevant to the construction sector.
  • Professional Registration with SACPCMP.
  • 3-5 years of on-site experience as a Site Engineer on significant building projects.
